Baby Rivers' Room

Baby Rivers' room is ready! We had lots of help in putting this adorable room together. My good friend Abby who is very creative, cross-stiched the cute blanket and then created and painted all of the wall decorations. My aunt Beth gave us the crib and the changing table. Mark's mom made the crib skirt and valance from fabric that matched the colors in the blanket. Mark painted the walls and put the dresser together. I didn't have to do much except organize. We are very thankful for all of our friends and family. Baby Rivers' is going to come into this world with lots of love and support. Mark and I are also very lucky that we have some great role models as parents to look up to when we start this next chapter in our lives.

Mark and I had a fun day when we went to purchase the take-home outfit! Since we are waiting to find out the sex, we had to purchase two outfits. Mark picked out the boy outfit and I picked out the girl outfit. You would have thought I would of had a tougher time making a decision but Mark was the one who took longer to pick out his outfit. He was very particular. We have them both packed in the hospital bag.

Getting ready for Baby Rivers!

Mark is busy turning the "office" into Baby Rivers room. I was very patient and waited to hand Mark his "Baby To do list" until after he completed the WI Ironman on September 13th. We were all very proud of his accomplishment and hard work. The "Baby To do List" cut into some of his Fall hunting time this year but the proud soon-to-be Dad was excited to be helping prepare the house for Baby Rivers.

At the beginning of November, the two very excited soon-to-be Aunts and my good friend Abby hosted a really fun shower at Julie's apartment community room with both sides of my family and some friends. Baby Rivers had 6 Grandma's attend (the very excited soon-to-be Grandmas, Sara and Marie, and Great-Grandma Jan, Kathleen, and Cheryl and also Great-Great Grandma Irma). Everyone was so generous, thank you. I have to point out the cute cake Auntie Heather made - it tasted great too! Future Dad and future Grandpa Mark were busy deer hunting in Albert Lea that weekend but Mark provided some entertainment with his answers to some baby questions - he was very very thorough!!

We also had two other showers, one with my current co-workers at XATA and another with some former co-workers from Grant Thronton (pictured above). I am just so amazed how much stuff a little baby needs! We are very thankful for all our friends and family that filled and continue to fill Baby Rivers room.
